What are the signs that my hamster is getting sick or is sick?

My hamster has been acting weird and her eye looks funny. Can anyone give me a list of signs or anything that tells me if my hamster is sick or is just becoming old? She is a full adult. 🙂 Thank you!

I guess I will add what her eye looks like. One eye is squinting, almost shut while the other one is open like it is supposed to be.

Thank you.

    Hi Leonel!

It could be wet tail but usually baby hamsters get them as it is caused by stress. The early signs are: sleeping all day and even all night, not eating or drinking, sitting in a “hunched” position. And the late signs are: wet crusty eyes, she stays where ever you put her, reluctant to open her eyes, diarrhea covering bum and maybe belly diarrhea has mucus bits in it. If you see these signs you should take her to the vet or pet shop as it can be fatal. Hamsters usually die from becoming dehydrated rather than the actual infection so make sure she drinks. To tell if shes dehydrated gently pull the back of her skin up and when the let go if it goes down slowly this means they are dehydrated. Good luck.
