Tenactin on Cats

Is it really okay to put Tenactin on a cat knowing she’ll lick it off or is an e-collar a must? A vet recommended this for her ringworm in place of sulfur dips, but I don’t want to permanently e-collar her until it clears up. Help!

Most of the people I know use a collar if applying Tinactin or some other anti-fungal in areas that the cat could lick but I think that was to keep them from removing the medicine more than being a danger to them. I don’t think ingesting a little of it will hurt them, but I don’t know what “a little” is. Given their small size, I might err on the side of caution and use a collar or find another product. I do know that with other OTC treatments, like Clotrimazole, it’s recommended that it be kept away from the mouth to avoid ingestion because of its potential toxicity.
