I adopted a 7 year old beagle mix about 3 weeks ago. I had to rush her to the vet the other day because she got very sick. Turns out she has pancreatitis. She’s doing somewhat better and I have her on a diet of rice, chicken, chicken broth and a little baby food.
When she gets better what should I feed her? Anyone have any experience with this?

This seems like a bizarre symptom, but I read it on a symptom list the other day and can’t remember what it was for. When I got back, my cat had developed this symptom. For at least 24 hours, the fur down her back is standing straight up as though there’s static electricity caught in it, though there’s not, and it’s very oily looking only in that area.
Any idea what this could be? I think I was going down a list of malabsorption illnesses at the time I found it, but I can’t remember clearly.

Ruffa just developed a hematoma on the end flap of her ear. Actually, it takes up nearly half her ear in under an hour, about 2 inches long by 1.5 inches across.
Her appointment to be spayed and have her tumor removed is in 2 weeks. The vet insisted it be three weeks after her heat cycle. Is it okay to let the hematoma go that long?   We’re calling the vet in the morning, but can’t seem to find an answer on how long is too long.

It’s now 06 September 2012. About 5 weeks ago, our dog, Chiqui woke, jumped down from bed, threw-up, then it was painful to watch the staggering for 5 minutes and recovered in 10 minutes from the onset.
Today, she did it again. Recommendations??

Shorty gets scarred and hides whenever dishes are washed or dryed and put away. He has never had them thrown at him or anything. We have had him since he was a kitten. Shorty also gets scarred and hides if a radio is turned on but TV noise doesn’t scare him.
Why these other things scare him? Help!

The infected cat was given dewormer, as well as my other cat who was at the vet anyway. However, there are two other cats and one dog in the house. Do they all need dewormer? The vet said I should bring them all in, but is that really necessary? I’m having trouble determining if tapeworms are contagious or not. Help!!!

It has been about two months since my dog’s heat cycle ended, and she is exhibiting all the classic symptoms of false pregnancy, except swollen mammary glands and lactation.
Can it be false pregnancy without lactation?
This has happened to her before, and I read once a dog does this; she will almost always do this.

Thank you.
Raymond

So recently my dog has stopped listening to me completely. It doesn’t matter what I do he just won’t listen, I know it isn’t a problem with respect, he won’t listen to anyone and he is not a dominate dog.
Help!
