The first thing you need to know is what Giardia are.
Giardia are protozoans, tiny, one-celled parasitic life forms with the potential to cause serious illness. Dogs that are infected often have diarrhea as one of the symptoms.
The second thing you need to know is that humans can get giardia from their dogs, so its important to make sure you wash thoroughly after handling your puppy or cleaning up after him to prevent this from occuring.
Your vet can treat for this condition, so if you’ve not already had your puppy treated, that is the very next thing you should do.
