2 year old cocker spaniel with skin problems

March 7th, 2007

Pet Owner Question: I HAVE A 2 YEAR OLD COCKER SPANIEL WHO HAS SKIN PROBLEMS. HE IS ON PREDNISONE AND OMEGA 3 SUPPLEMENTS. HE HAS GAINED 15 LBS SINCE STARTING ON PREDNISONE.

I HAVE HIM ON DIET FOOD 2 CUPS A DAY, HAVE TRIED TO WEAN THE PREDNISONE AND WITHIN A FEW DAYS RASH APPEARS.

QUESTION IS IS THERE ANYTHING HOLISTIC TO TRY INSTEAD OF THE PREDNISONE THAT WOULD HELP HIM WITH HIS SKIN AND NOT CAUSE HIM TO BE OVERWEIGHT?

THANKS SO MUCH,

Cat vomiting

February 18th, 2007

Question:
My cat seems to vomit a little more than normal and it seems to have increased over the last few months. I realize cats sometimes vomit and have hairballs and whatnot, but I’m not sure that’s his problem. We switched him last year to a new chicken based food with no corn because his last vet thought it was a corn allergy. It seemed to work for a few months but now he is worse. He doesn’t act like he is in pain and he hasn’t lost any weight. Occasionally, it is whole food, but mostly it is pretty much digested food. Do you have any suggestions or thoughts? I appreciate it!
