Hi, I just read your post on fleas and I wanted to tell you my story and hope you might offer some help.
I have a 10 y/old Chihuahua that’s constantly scratching. I’ve tried giving her a bath every 2 – 3 weeks but that hasn’t helped. She doesn’t have fleas and I haven’t seen anything else on her. Sometimes she scratches till she is almost bleeding.
Could this simply be dry skin?
What else can I do to help her stop scratching?
Please help. She’s miserable.
Thank you,
Diana

Our 23 year old cat has a severe cough and is sneezing, she has been on azithromycin for ten days and then vibramycin ten days and is deteriorating and loosing her appetite and is not drinking a lot. She had 2 I.V.’s about a week ago, and blood work. x-ray did not show pneumonia. I need holistic help. She is in delicate health and I hate to take her outside now, because it is cold.
Can I pay for a consultation over the phone or would she need to be seen? The situation is getting very serious. She is eating a little cooked sirloin 4% with olive oil, boiled in water, and Gerber baby food and chicken.
Thank you

I am mom to 5 dogs and the oldest one is in very poor health and I’m facing the fact that I’ll probably have to put him down so that he does not suffer unnecessarily.
I’d like to find out what the costs are to have someone come out to our house to do this. I don’t want to put him through the ordeal of another office visit and I can’t face the thought of driving home alone.
Can you help?

I have an 18 1/2 year old cat who is acting like she does not feel well. She looks listless and sleeps a lot and her fur looks dull.
I’ve taken her to the vet on 3 different occasions but, other than telling me she’s getting old, they can’t find anything wrong with her.
I want to help her feel better and have run out of things to do for her. Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you

I have a question. I’ve been reading on the internet about holistic health care for pets and some of the things I read sound ‘too good to be true’. Of course I want to do the best for my 2 dogs and 1 cat.
When I bring the subject up to the vet I’ve been going to for the past 4 years (and who I really like), he poo-poos any of my suggestions and makes me feel gullible for believing what I find on the internet.
I don’t want to change vets but I would like to try some of the alternatives to expensive vet care. Any suggestions on how to educate my vet?
Thank you,
Anne

My 13 year old Weimaraner was having issues with his hips but was still able to go out to the bathroom without assistance. I’ve had him to the vet for this and we’ve tried Adequan, Rimadyl and a joint enhancer supplement but his problem is getting worse.
Yesterday he fell after going to the bathroom and I had to help him get back up and pretty much had to carry him up the stairs. I’m not that strong and I’m concerned that I won’t be able to do this much longer.
What else can I do for my boy? I love him very much and, other than his hip problem, he is a happy and healthy guy.
HELP!

Why is it I can’t find a pet hospital that bills you?
My dog has really bad bites from another dog and no vet would see him if I don’t have the money up front or if I applied for Care Credit which I did but I didn’t get approved.
What should I do now???
I need help!

Hi doc,
My 9 month old jack Russel has been castrated – this seems to make him even more ‘randy’ as he makes the mating movement all the time and cannot seem to control it – he pants and wants to ‘hump’ anything he sees – a blanket, my arm etc… He was never like this and he cannot be distracted or seem to find any peace or rest – just this constant mating movement against something or nothing if there is nothing in sight – he isn’t the dog I know – will this pass??

My cat has a tumor in front of his larynx. It’s big and it’s getting harder for him to swallow. We found out too late that he had cancer. The vet is afraid to take a biopsy due to making the tumor angry and causing it to grow faster. I need to know if there is anything at this late stage to shrink the tumor so he will stop suffering. I may have to put him down soon. He is gulping when he swallows. I just found out on Thursday that he had a tumor and it’s getting harder for him to swallow. He may have a collapsed lung and pneumonia due to trying to breath harder. The vet is concerned that intubating him will cause cancer cells to break off and go down the throat.
Please help. He is almost 11 pounds and weighed 17 pounds on Thursday. He lost a pound yesterday when I went to get him an iv. He still wants to eat, especially cat treats.
thank you
Kim
