Need to take a stool sample to vet. How long is it good for

I need to take a stool sample in to my vet.  I collected a sample yesterday and put it in the refrigerator.  My vet will not be open again until Tuesday.  Will the sample be good until then or will I need to try to get a more recent sample?

    Good question. I was told by a lab tech that 2 – 3 days is the max but you should ask your vet to make sure.
