My 7 year old spayed female cat is huge. We put her on a special diet but she’s only lost half a pound so far and still has five more to go. Despite carefully watching what she eats, she’s not really losing.
Do you have any tips or suggestions for us? We’re at our wits end!

Pat has many successes in helping pets health through diet so she’s very good to listen to.
We used to have a fat cat – she ate the avocados that dropped from our trees and wound up looking like an avocado herself, and she wasn’t much of a mover either.
We never did get her down to her fighting weight but got her a bit slimmed down. What was effective was limiting the food we set out for her and playing with her more.
