Lead poisoning treatment for dog and cat?

I have lead poisoning probably from the city water. I am getting
treatments for it. However, my dog and cat have been drinking the same water.

What treatments should they be receiving. I have scheduled a vet appointment for them.

Thanks.

    Dear Pet owner—

Make sure that your animals are on optimum foods—in our practice we recommend raw food and our favorite commercial version is the Innova Evo line from Natura in Santa Rosa, CA.

If you have lead toxicosis from your water supply then it is highly likely your pets have some amount of exposure as well. I would recommend a blood test specifically screening for lead in your pet’s blood to confirm. If lead is present I would then have full bloodwork panels to assess if any organ or tissue damage is present prior to starting treatment. The treatment for dogs and cats is the same- essentially injections of calcium EDTA which binds and excretes the lead from the body. Lead toxicosis is very serious and should always be treated aggressively if present. Your pets may not appear sick now but the long term damage can be extremely detrimental and even life threatening.
