Is there any ways to prevent breathing problem of my rats?

I know that my little boys down the line will face some sort of respiratory distress. How can I prevent/slow the effects of that? Are there any foods that I should give/not give to increase immune strength in rats? One of my boys is sneezing a lot and I have at my disposal various antibiotics (cefadroxil, etc) don’t ask how… but is it ok if I give my boys a prevention dosage?

    Keep the cage clean .And once a week, when you get in the shower, put them in a clean bucket, with a thin towel over it, and sit them right by the shower so they can breathe in the steam.it will cleanse their system.
