How do you know if a dog has a fur problem?

When I get home from work my dog always smells like he hasn’t had a bath in weeks but I give my dog a bath every other day. Does he have some kind of fur or skin problem?

Thanks,

Sue

    Hi Sue,

If your dog still stinks when all those baths he needs to see a vet. Dogs get yeast infections on and in their skin. Itchiness and soreness (redness) are signs, however some dogs just suffer in silence. Also, look within the ears, yeast is famous for hiding there and causing all kinds of problems.

You’re bathing him too much. He only needs a bath once or twice a month. Long haired dogs want brushing but not bathing every day. All that wetness causes yeast infections.A vet will give you meds to clear it right up.

    Good Luck.
