I am trying to housebreak my puppy and teach him not to chew on everything. I’ve tried the training pads; he just chews them up. And he’s got more chew toys then he knows what to do with, but he’d still rather chew on my electrical wires then his chew toys. Any suggestions on how to break him of these bad habits?

Never let him out of your sight. Keep him on a leash at all times, that way he’s never more than a few feet from you. He goes where you go. When you catch him chewing on an “unapproved” toy, take it away from him, tell him NO firmly, and give him one of the “his” toys. Soon, he’ll get the idea, especially if you’re always there to correct him. Until you can trust him, he should stay on the leash. My rottweiler spent the first six months of his life on a leash within 6 feet of me at all times. Also, having him that close helped our bond and made subsequent obedience training much easier.
@Taylor. Thanks for the advice and tips. I hope they will work on mine because the biting is getting annoying.
