How do I excercise my dog during the summer heat?

Summer is coming up soon and where I live, the average temperature will reach over 100 degrees F. Even at night, the weather is unbearably hot.

I have a jack russell terrier who needs a lot of exercise but I’m not sure how to do that when it starts getting too hot. The average weather right now is around 90 degrees F. I’m already having trouble getting my pup enough exercise and it’s not even summer yet.

Thanks.

Benny, if you have treadmill you can try getting your dog to walk it. Hopefully you have air conditioning they won’t be subject to the heat. If you don’t have a treadmill then you will have to adjust the time when you take your dog. Always carry lots of water or walk near by stores so that you can purchase water. Keeping your dog hydrated is most important. Even if its really hot at night that might be your best time of the day considering the sun will be gone. Good luck!
