Holistic help for a torn ligament?

I took my dog to the vet because he injured his leg. My current vet recommended TTA based on an x-ray he took today. Can torn or ruptured ligaments be viewed on an xray? Also, what holistic
treatment would you recommend? This is a 2 year old black lab, he is limping but NO LONGER holding his leg off the ground since taking anti-inflammitory meds.

” tape up the good leg and force him to use the leg with the limb. try this every other day and see if it helps. “

“From a veterinarian: Well, holistic? I don’t think so. But, you could try omega -6 fatty acids. Look for a product called derm caps. It does help decrease inflammation. Also, try Glucosamine and Chondroiton Sulfate. They will help protect the cartilliage from further damge and at the same time will strengthen the ligaments and help with flexability. Works for us too!

If the pain goes away, surgery might not be needed. Time will tell.

But, don’t be afraid of TPLO. Great surgery, and typically will fix your dog to near 100%.

    Good luck.”

MY DOG IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM…xrays show nothing. After reading these posts I am going to get him checked for Lyme disease…
but my vet suggested having him SWIM everyday, we are looking for a used above ground pool for him,
Vet said to also to massage his leg and walk him a bit on a leash trying to get him to use the leg.
Very frustrating as he is a strong little guy and the vet says he is losing the muscle mass in his back, lame leg which is worrying me. He is 6 years old and just started limping after a day in the yard playing
