My 8 yr old male Doberman was recently diagnosed with Wobbler’s Disease. He has a herniated disk between the 5th and 6th vertebrae which is putting pressure on his spinal cord. The Neurologist (Vet) at the Animal Hospital recommends surgery, however I feel that surgery is too invasive and the recovery would be too painful. Is there an alternate treatment?
Is he treatable? He appears to be getting worse everyday and I am afraid that time is running out.
Please advise as soon as possible.
Thank you.
Maria

This is a cervical spinal instability problem. Medicine can reduce inflammation. Surgery can help some. An unfortunate disease.

I contacted a chiropratic vet in my area … she informed me that there was nothing she could do to help with this disease. Chiropratic treatment will not work.
Very disappointing that some type of non-invasive treatment for such a debilating disease is practically non-existant.
