It’s now 06 September 2012. About 5 weeks ago, our dog, Chiqui woke, jumped down from bed, threw-up, then it was painful to watch the staggering for 5 minutes and recovered in 10 minutes from the onset.
Today, she did it again. Recommendations??

It could be a seizure, could be a stroke, either way you need to see a vet for diagnosis and medication. Your dog may have had more than just these two that you haven’t seen. Seizures can range from grand mal, where they’re thrashing around, down to what appears to just be the dog zoning out for a few seconds. Any level of seizure is very upsetting to the dog and they tend to show they’re upset in some way or another. Seizures shouldn’t be overlooked as the dog can injure himself during them and they’re also more of a symptom than an actual illness. Epilepsy is caused by something, though it can be classified as idiopathic {as in, who knows where it came from}, but many times it’s secondary to something else. Your vet will need to run some tests to help determine the root cause to best treat it. Do not let it go – w/o treatment it’ll only get worse and could become fatal depending on what’s causing it.
