Can ferrets catch any diseases from pet rats?

Sunday, November 17th, 2013

I have a pet rat and 2 ferrets. My rat’s cage is pretty near the ferret cage. We keep her very clean, but I think she has something wrong with her. She has a huge lump on her abdomen. She’s 3 years old, and I lost her sister to a tumor about a year ago so I’m pretty sure this is the same, but at the same time I’m worried she may have some kind of disease that she could pass along to my ferrets. Is that possible?

My ferrets teeth look like they are rotting! help!

Monday, September 9th, 2013

I adopted three ferrets from someone on Craigslist. The condition of their teeth is deplorable. Is there a special fluoride or toothpaste that I can buy? Also one of the older ferret shakes, almost uncontrollably and non-stop, is there a reason for this? How do I help correct this?

Thanks,
Glenne

Baby Ferret questions

Saturday, March 16th, 2013

I found this baby ferret in my backyard today. I’ve been feeding it cat food and I’m planning on putting up flyers to find the owner. I am not sure if the ferret is okay, its been sleeping and being very lazy mostly, and then it will eat quickly and go to the bathroom and sleep again. Is this normal?
What is another good thing to feed it? It seems to love the cat food I gave it and a little bit of peanut butter which it ate as well.

Thanks. – Claude
