Ruffa just developed a hematoma on the end flap of her ear. Actually, it takes up nearly half her ear in under an hour, about 2 inches long by 1.5 inches across.
Her appointment to be spayed and have her tumor removed is in 2 weeks. The vet insisted it be three weeks after her heat cycle. Is it okay to let the hematoma go that long? We’re calling the vet in the morning, but can’t seem to find an answer on how long is too long.

It’s now 06 September 2012. About 5 weeks ago, our dog, Chiqui woke, jumped down from bed, threw-up, then it was painful to watch the staggering for 5 minutes and recovered in 10 minutes from the onset.
Today, she did it again. Recommendations??

It has been about two months since my dog’s heat cycle ended, and she is exhibiting all the classic symptoms of false pregnancy, except swollen mammary glands and lactation.
Can it be false pregnancy without lactation?
This has happened to her before, and I read once a dog does this; she will almost always do this.
Thank you.
Raymond

I have a pit bull dog, whos only 10 months old… When we first got him he never scratched at all but after several months he began to scratch. It started off mild & after a couple of weeks it became severe. He scratches and scratches, and scratches to the point were he bleeds, or begins to go bald in certain areas and it’ll look red and really aggitated; he has also become very sensitive to the touch and tends to whine from time to time if he’s in pain. He doesn’t like to stay outside long because of flies, nor does he like for people to rub on him a lot because it causes him to constantly shake. Also when he itches or shake large flakes that looks like dandruff falls off or sits on top of his coat. We try to keep him from scratching as much as possible but we also know how much it bothers him so from time to time we’ll give him some leeway to scratch, or else he’ll just sneak off and do it somewhere else. Another thing he does is bite scratch and lick on his paws until they become puffy and red; sometimes it sounds as if he’s eating himself alive which really disturbs and saddens our family to see/hear. The vet has told us that he does not have fleas and my family and I have tried everything from, rubbing him down with different types of oils to giving him baths every 2-3 days but still nothing has worked and the itching seems as if it’s not becoming any better. I don’t know if dogs can get eczema, can this be some sort of summer allergy because he’s never itched and scratched during the cold months, or is this just a bad case of some sort of dry skin reaction? Were all just really confused, and it saddens me to see that he has to keep suffering everyday. We really need some help/ or suggestions! PLEASEEE, or we may have to consider to just give him away to the pound :(.

My 10yr old basset Tucker has a bleeding lesion on his groin area for which we are about to see a vet. My 2y old pug mix usually sleeps inside with us but for the past week he has slept outside and refuses to leave Tucker’s side. He has this expression of sadness on his face and genuinely seems concerned about his buddy. I think he’s worried. What do you think?

Hello my name is Susan. My dog tested positive for E.Canis for three times now. He is on 10mg/kg once a day tablet of doxycycline these days but since he has hundreds of ticks, I was wondering if getting rid of the ticks would help alleviate the problem. So would it be safe to apply Frontline while he is on doxycycline?

Holla! My name is Nathan. We rescued our dog from his previous owner who didn’t treat him too well. We have other dogs, and he gets jealous of them. He develops wounds as manifestation of his jealousy! Giving him dog treats aren’t enough anymore. What can I do to help our poor doggie?
Thank you.
