I’ve been told that dry cat food is bad for my cats health and that concerns me.  Problem: my cat loves dry cat food and will only eat a small amount of  the wet food I give to her.
Before I gave her dry food in the morning and wet and dry at night, but now I’m just giving her canned food and she’ll only take a bite or two, then walk away and refuse to eat any more.  Then she follows me around meowing and looking really sad and upset.
I get concerned that she’ll starve to death so I’ve been giving her a little dry later in the morning and she just dives in and eats every little bit.
I really want to make the switch but I’m not quite sure how to do it.  HELP!

my cat is apx 14-17 yrs old.  i think she has dislocated her back leg (from the hip).  she is not able to walk, or stand, but the foot is fine and she can move it.  however, now she is not going to the bathroom either.  no pee or poo since yesterday. i believe she is in a ton of pain.  can you please tell me how much a visit like this would cost?  can anything be done for her without a traumatizing visit to a vet hospital?

I would like to know if there are alternative treatments for a 16 year old cat with CRF  and another, 7 years old,  with asthma?
Thank You.

My cat’s paw suddenly swelled up and she cannot walk on it.  There is no blood.  She is not licking it but she cries if we come near her or try to touch her paw.  We need to have a vet see her asap and will bring her in tomorrow.
Can I do anything in the interim?

HELP! My cat is prone to urinary tract infections and our vet put her on a canned food for this.  She’s extremely stubborn and refuses to eat the canned food she needs for her urinary tract health.
Any suggestions?

My cat has a history of peeing blood when she’s stressed. This time it’s been going on for a long time.  Being picked up stresses her majorly.  I’m contacting a house-call vet to come out and visit her but I wondered if anyone else has had a cat with the same problems.

Hi,  I know you have a directory on VetLocator for holistic vets and I’ve used it twice, once for my dogs and then a cat specialist.  So I have a question…
My friends call me a health nut because I’m super concerned about my pet’s nutrition. I just keep reading about recalls and such from ‘healthy pet food’ companies and it’s freaking me out a little.
How can I make sure I’m feeding them right?

My 7 year old spayed female cat is huge. We put her on a special diet but she’s only lost half a pound so far and still has five more to go. Despite carefully watching what she eats, she’s not really losing.
Do you have any tips or suggestions for us?  We’re at our wits end!
Sincerely,
DL
