Could my pet rat have respiratory problems?

Friday, January 20th, 2012

He’s 9 months recent and fairly good sized. He sneezes a heap, though. I use carefresh bedding so I understand its not that, I’m just not positive if I ought to worry. The only different thing that creates me worry is that generally he’s terribly lazy and can just lay in his house. Not sleeping though. But he sneezes SO MUCH! Should I worry concerning him?

Thanks.

Can you help me with my pet cat issues?

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

I want a cat. Can someone tell me what you’ve got to try and do with cats, like for example would you able to place food in its bowl everyday (yes I would) and can you offer me some facts regarding them and do they scratch a lot?

Thanks a lot.

My dogs eating my cats food! Help!

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

I have issues with my dogs eating my cats’ food. Are there any pet foods suitable for cats and dogs?

The cats eat the dog food too, but I was told it’s OK for cats to eat dog food, however not vice-versa, because of the high protein content.

Help!

Parakeets health problem

Sunday, January 15th, 2012

Well I have 2 parakeets that my daddy just bought me and I have some health concerns about them.

When I got the first bird I opened the box and she flew out when her wings were clipped so she fell on her wing I guess and now she holds that wing away from her body and wont mess with it. Is her wing injured and how can I help? My second parakeet is good I just wonder about his toes. His toe nails are brownish kind of black and is there something wrong with that?

Any answers are appreciated. Thanks!

Chris

Help: Hamster problem

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

I have a hamster. Can an expert or even not but has knowledge about Syrian hamsters help me.

1.) If you put two hamsters-‘Syrian’ already in a cage and gets use to it, will they not fight and kill each other because they are known to kill one another and to be alone in one cage

2.) How to take good care of it. Can you give some tips?

3.) Why do they not drink if I put water in a small bowl? Does it need to be warm? I think my water is a little bit cold.

Help me please. I’m a newbie to pet these animals. Thanks!

Rat health problem

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

My boyfriend has a pet rat named Agatha, and she is less than a year old. However, she has been acting strange and we just noticed it, but have never even seen or heard of these symptoms. I can only describe it.

She walks forward, sucks in her stomach at the waist, to the point where she looks emaciated, and this makes it hard for her to balance as she keeps walking, so her hind legs drag a little. He says it looks as though she’s trying to turn by standing with both legs, limp, in one spot. I think it looks as though she tries to bend herself in half like a hose.

We looked everywhere for symptoms list, and could not identify what was going on. She still eats, is active, playful, but does a look a little tired. The problem just started today.

If anybody knows what’s wrong with Agatha, please help!

Help! My dog has bad breath!

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

Whenever I pet my dog or someone else pets my dog he opens his mouth. I have never been able to understand why he opens his mouth when being petted.  I want to make my dog understand that he should not open his mouth when being petted. How to make my dog not open his mouth when he is being pet by anyone?

The reason i don’t want him to open his mouth when being petted is because he has bad breath. He has no health problems because he is only 2 years old, so i don’t think vet is needed.

Rat health problems

Tuesday, December 20th, 2011

I’m an experienced rodent keeper; I’ve had everything from hamsters to guinea pigs to chinchillas! I’ve never had any problems with them but I’ve been considering getting some pet rats because people say they are more rewarding. But I’ve also heard that pet rats tend to have a load of medical problems – is this true?  & are they really worth the burden?
