Help! My cat has been vomiting at least 2-3 times a week, several times a day for almost a year now…She makes this awful “screaming” noise just before she vomits, and while she’s throwing up, it looks like it’s very violent & painful. She’s a very loving, playful kitty, and acts normal when she’s not throwing up. Recently, she’s started throwing up more often (her record is 7 times in one day) and now has what looks like gravel in her vomit. She’s not eating her kitty litter, and I haven’t seen her eat anything foreign.
My vet has done many tests, but has no clue what could be wrong with her, and has just given her a shot of cortisone to help “correct” the problem. He says if the shot stops the vomiting, he’ll prescribe pills for her. Is this good for my cat? Is this solving the problem, or just covering it up?
Thanks!

I have a new dog & am currently using the flea control that goes between the shoulder blades. My vet said every other month, but it is not working.
I have used 2 times, 4 weeks in between.
It is now 2 weeks since last application. It seems very strong & I am concerned about toxic implications.
Is there anything else I can ask for from my vet or get from a local pet store that is holistic, organic, or not as strong?
Thanks,
Jane

Hello,
My cat has a small white and red bump on her skin. Should I be worried?
Dawne
My dog is a 3 lb 4oz Yorkshire Terrier.
My 14 year old companion’s back has had a ‘curve’ develop in her back towards her little rump/tail end, with her spine showing (very ‘pronounced’). When she tries to walk, she does so, in an out of control way… gaining speed and falling over or running into something.
She appears to be “frustrated”, as she will sit down abnormally, with her legs both together, to the right side… as if she were being ‘modest’ (not to “reveal” ‘private’ parts) it initially looks cute, BUT she is in obvious pain; sometimes she will reach down and ‘grab’ her foot and gnaw on it, as if she was quite frustrated.
She has been “spewing” considerably lately and is always needing an unusual amount of water, lately.
What (if anything) can I do for my bitch?
Bitch is her name, of course.
I do have oxycontin, baby aspirin, etc. but I’ve been hesitant in administering even a tiny amount, even if the entire pill were pulverized with a morter and pestal, mixed thoroughly (before administering any).
Real pain relief has got to be done or euthanasia would be the only alternative, ‘humane’ answer. In that case, I would assume a good size portion would let her peacefully expire.
Most Urgently Submitted,
J. M.
PS: I forgot two “points”:
1) Her legs are “crossed” when she sits.
2) My wife has had a cold/flu… “spewing”, also; actually… BEFORE Bitch started doing it. Is it possible that my dog contracted an illness from my wife?
I didn’t think human sickness isn’t “spreadable” to our friends in the animal world…
Continued Thanks,

Hi,
My yellow lab just had a litter of 7 pups. They are 17 days old and 2 days ago one of the male pups developed a large growth on the top left side of his head. It is oval shaped, as big around as a .50 cent piece and it stretches from the base of his eyebrow to back of his head by his ear. It is as if we went to bed one night and it was not there and woke up the next day and it was there.
We have been watching it for 2 days and it has not grown nor has it shrunk. When we push on it, it feels squishy almost as if it filled with some kind of a fluid.
It does not seem to hurt him and he is eating, playing, and moving just like normal.
What is this? Please help!
Thanks!

My dog gets swollen a lot on her face. Just this past week under her mouth around her neck was swollen, and it’s sometimes her check, her eye, or lip. We have taken her to the vet and they say it’s an allergic reaction and that we should give her Bendadryl. Which seems to work, but she swells at least twice a month…sometimes more, could this be something else? We have sprayed the house for insects and out, so if she is allergic to something I don’t know what it is?
Let me know what you think.
Thanks!

Hello,
I have a 13 year old neutered male DSH who has IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) for the past two years.
He stopped eating about three days ago (grain free single-protien diet), and has lost a noticable amount of weight. I switched him to a grain free (poultry) soft food this afternoon and although he is still drinking water, Max has thrown up the moist food twice in the past ten minutes. He kept his meal down for about 2 hours, but what I am seeing doesn’t as though he had begun to digest any of the moist food (still wet, still looks like it did in his dish). My vet’s office isn’t open until Monday, and I don’t have anything to give him medicine-wise. Is there ANYTHING I can safely give him to help soothe his digestive tract so he can eat even a little bit? He says it hurts and he’s afraid to eat.
Any help appreciated–I love him very much and am terrified of losing him.
