Cat with red mark and missing fur around it. What is it?

My cat has a red mark on her shoulder and she has kind of a bald spot around where it is.

Do you have any ideas on what this could possibly be?

    Hi Kim,

    This could be from a variety of things ranging from an infection under the red mark to a bug bite, or flea allergy to mange. One of our office cats here got into a scrap with another cat and got bitten (and we didn’t know it at the time). Later we saw some of his hair missing and a red mark on his shoulder. It didn’t look bad at the time and the puncture wasn’t open or anything, but under it was a bad infection and he needed antibiotics to recover.

    Have your vet take a look for a correct diagnosis.
