Can a vaccinated cat still catch feline leukemia?

I have two cats that are vaccinated against feline leukemia.  If I adopt a feline leukemia, positive cat, can my current cats still catch it?

Yes, they can. The FeLV vaccine is estimated to be at the best 80% effective. That means that your cats would have a fairly good chance of catching it, as it’s very easily transmitted through normal contact. Sharing of food dishes, grooming – those are just two ways that the virus can be spread.
