Are candies like gummy worms safe for dogs to consume?

My dog often finds candy and eats it. He loves it and I just want to know if it’s safe.

Thank you in advance.

Candy, including gummies, as an occasional treat won’t hurt him, but too much can cause upset stomach, vomiting, and/or diarrhea. It can also have long-term effects if he eats it too often. Also, some gummies contain xylitol, which is deadly to dogs, so read the ingredients carefully. Even little bits of candy given over a long period of time can lead to obesity or even Type II Diabetes, so it’s best not to make a habit of letting him have it. Gummies are sticky and can stick in his teeth causing tooth decay and cavities. The basic rule of thumb is that if it’s considered bad for or unhealthy for people, it’s not good for your pet either, so keep the sugary people treats to a bare minimum.

My 4lb pomeranian got a hold of sour gummy worms, I’m not sure how many he has eaten but I know he ate at least 10, because he has thrown them all up. He hasn’t thrown up in the last 30 minutes. Should I be concerned, should I take him to the vet?

My Pomeranian/miniature dashound just ate at least 10 gummy worms this morning too. She has been throwing up all morning but from reading other posts online it says that they will probably be fine, just throw up and the runs. But my dog is small and ate practically a whole bag. Not sure whether or not to be worried or if I should just let it pass and watch her for a few days.
