Seeking internal medicine vet for cat with GI probs.

Seeking an internal medicine vet for a cat with GI PROBLEMS (Gut Dysbiosis?),e.g., multiple large bowel movements,soft,progres- sing to loose stools and diarrhea.

Vet claims she cannot tolerate processed foood,e.g., canned cat foods. He recommends raw or cooked chicken for 3-4 weeks to rule out allergy. Difficult for me to manage. Have 4 cats.

Also giving her probiotic daily (2x, ideally).

I have IBS with diarrhea intermittently.  Am wondering if I am being contaminated by handling stools or if we both are being contaminated by raw meat (or cooked) left too long in refrigerator. Cannot afford vet visits. Have taken her to 2 other vets last yr. They did not address this issue or that of copious amounts of urine.  Blood sugar level sometimes somewhat elevated. Vet not concerned.  She was obese but has lost unexplained wt over several months.

Current wt is 12 lbs. 11 yrs. old. Tested positive for bartinella bacteria in Jan/Feb,2009. Giving doxycycline, 2nd round.

GI problems, wt loss, and copius urine present prior to Antibiotic. Inflammed gums for 10.5 yrs. 10-12 teeth lost. Have had cleaning 2-3 times.

Pls answer ASAP.

  1. gut dysbiosis is a complicated but workable issue. must repopulate “good guys”, get rid of yeast overgrowth, muscle test for food allergy!!!!!
glutathinone, yucca, licorice are helpful. on occasion a short course of steroids is required, then you back off as all the above “kicks in”

  2. a combination of traditional medication and alterantive supplements is the way to go
many times, initially, a course of prednisone is required to halt the severe inflammation. in combination with probiotics, digestive enzymes. glutamine, b vitamin supplements and liver support, often the pred can be weaned down.
NAET will test for food allergys. leaky gut syndrome (dysbiosis) can be treated. stop all vaccines
see the website for info on leaky gut and naet
