5 y/o Corgi with trembling episodes

I have a 5 year old welsh corgi. ?He seems healthy but lately has had a few episodes where his entire body seems to be trembling. ?This lasts for 10 to 15 minutes and then he seems fine. ?Do you have any idea what the cause of this could be?

Maybe i should mention that the trembling seems like involuntary muscle spasms .

Thank you.
Kate

  1. Brenda J says:

This trembling could be seizures, one needs to take to the vet to rule this option out and if they happen more then 1x a day within a 24 hour period this could be dangerous.

  2. Dr. Kristen Bock - Benicia, CA says:

There can be many possibilities – it could be neurological (partial seizures), musculoskeletal (Myasthenia gravis), abdominal pain (pancreatitis/hepatitis/bladder), orthopedic pain/back pain or neck pain, electrolyte imbalances, hormone imbalances (hypothyroidism), etc. He should be examined by your veterinarian for a full physical and neurological exam, and then they will make recommendations for tests. good luck!
