American Eskimo with seizures

My American Eskimo started experiencing seizures approx one month ago. They come in clusters approx 30 sec in duration. Looking for natural remedies. Started with phenobarbital two weeks ago. Appreciate any advice you can offer. We do not want to see our pet suffer and want to explore everything before considering the alternative.

Thank You

Don’t stray from your veterinarian’s Rx for phenobarb. It is the appropriate medication for idiopathic epilepsy. Sometimes the dose needs to be increased and use of an adjunctive medication such as potassium bromide may need to be considered. Do not hesitate to ask your veterinarian for a neurologic consult from a specialist – they sometimes can be helpful in refractory cases of epilepsy. Routine blood chem screens and phenobarb levels are recommended to maintain the right dosage and to check for metabolic side effects of the main dosing protocol of phenobarb.

What happened around that time? Any vaccines? Many times, these can trigger seizures. I have had great success with both whole food supplements and homeopathy. If interested, in this, please either call me or email me.

    hmmm……..
you want natural remedies but you also want alternative remedies?

Definitely try a hyoallergenic diet ALONG with the phenobarbital. I recommend IVD.
