My Parakeet has Gout!

My parakeet has gout and his legs are now paralyzed. Is it contagious for the other parakeets living in the same cage? Please help. – Ashley

    Take your Parakeet to vet Ashley, to see if anything can be done. If not, the bird should be put down, so it doesn’t suffer. His two legs and feet are all he has to stay upright. Good luck with your parakeet.

    Ashley, I just returned from visiting a friend who has gout – it has to be one of the most painful conditions ever..so I am sorry to hear your bird has it as well. Here is a link for a little more information on the condition.
