Locate a holistic veterinarian in your area for complimentary medicine tailored to your particular dog. As strange as it may sound, try a diet of raw food. Lots of info on the web. I have had cases clear up with nothing more than a change to raw diet.

Be sure your young German Shepherd has been tested for pancreatic insufficiency. This would be very common and would not respond unless you give daily pancreatic digestive enzymes along with the food. The symptoms would be: a ravenous appetite, loose stool which is often clay-colored and fatty or foamy in appearance, and losing weight in spite of eating a lot of food.

    Good luck,

so many questions, how was the case diagnosed? how old is the dog? on and on. you need to give much more information if another dr is going to help you.

  4. Dr. Larry Putter - NY, NY says:

    Hello,

Saw your posting. If your dog is having extreme IBD and not controlled with steroids and diet (and the diagnosis of IBD was confirmed by biopsy) there are other more potent drugs available. Perhaps seeing a local Vet specialist can help you. Ask your Vet for a referral.
    Good luck.
