Gus the good-time camel was the life of the Christmas party at one Irish riding school, sneaking out of his pen to indulge himself in Ireland's favorite drink.
A Christmas party was ruined by an uninvited guest who ate all the food and drank the beer – Gus the camel.
The 11-year-old camel and star of the school's Santa's Magical Animal Kingdom Show, Gus sneaked out of his stable while the 20 staff at his equestrian centre were off getting changed for the big night.
Unlike previous incidents of camels crashing Christmas events, Gus was not accompanied by any wise men.
Gus then scoffed 200 mince pies and 150 sandwiches before downing seven cans of Guinness, which he reportedly cracked open with his teeth. Staff at Mullinger Equestrian Centre in County Westmeath, Ireland, came back to find the place looking like a 'chimpanzee's tea party'.
Luckily they saw the funny side – although they said Gus will be locked up for the rescheduled feast.
Staff had been so busy preparing for the party they forgot to secure Gus's pen.
Centre owner Robert Fagan said: 'We're going to reschedule the Christmas party for next Tuesday but next time Gus is going to be properly locked up.' He seemed to be doing well after his holiday binge, Fagan said, adding, "We were all looking forward to it, but you couldn't blame him. He's really a very gentle, docile sort of camel."
At the time of writing, nobody has still fully explained the 'camel opening cans if Guinness with its teeth' part of the incident.
